Özet (EN)
WOMEN AS A SUBJECT OF ROMAN LAW IN IMPERIAL PERIOD (27 BC-AD 305) In general, while heroism, political and military successes of men were brought into fore frontof history, women were recognized as ready to applaud the achievements of men or mourn to their deceased bodies after wars. Women's names are appraised conditionally in Roman history writer's opus, emperor commandments, law texts and Senatus records. And these works are able to be supported partially with material cultural remains. Women's social life is closed in their "own worlds", required different legal regulations, parallel with changing economic, political and social structure of emperorship. In this framework, dynasty women's political affects and power continued surreptitiously Roma Emperor Period, woman-man relationships in Roma social and family life, gender concept, changing women perception in progress and how this perception find reflection in social, political and legal regulations will be undertaken and evaluated in order to analyze gender based applications in society and enlighten their undergrounded history. Additionally, woman identity in Rome society, woman-men relationships, and woman-man perception with changing life conditions in social political and legal life from Roma society's social construction will be researched. The reason of evaluating especially Roma Emperorship process is Political, financial and social crises appeared in transition period from Republic to Empire and afterwards in Roman State. Traditionalform of the family and society started to be scatteredwithin this crisis period. The traditional type of Roman women has changedunder long endless wars, urbanization and changing perception of theworld. Although women or men have personal manners and attitudes, a new type of woman generation emergedunder these fluid conditions. Hence women initiated a struggle to be placed within the public and social life. Women were tussled in order to enter public places from which they were kept away as emperor's wives and emperor's mothers to reach public area and power. In this period, some of imperial family women gained some titles and privileges which weren't exist in Roman society before. Imperial women started to have a voice in administration and they achieved to enter political arena though indirectly. Dynasty women started to have a word in government gradually. They succeeded in entering political arena indirectly thus they started to find a place for themselves in social life and also indirectly in legal life. Some sort of legal regulations about women are brought into laws. However these aren't direct regulations they still have indirect dictums. Women's contestations on their rights are responded partially. In social life new generation women who adapt themselves to time's changing conditions and who want to live freely, recorded themselves in prostitute lists and targeted to live more freely and comfortably. Male dominated and in a society where men are free exceptionally, pressured and behaved injustice women go outside of house barriers and find a place outside for themselves. Nevertheless women find appropriate to use their sexuality as much as their intelligence for getting this freedom or they find a media only for this in this period. It is questionable how much they are successful. This period Roman women succeeded in expanding their action areas with their own contingency and possibilities. Naturally it is seen that these efforts reflected in antique resources. Especially and primarily aristocrat and noble women's fight in this period started to construct "new women identity" legally and socially. In this study the question of "who is this new woman" is carried out to be answered in general framework of Rome's society.
