Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two different free gingival graft techniques performed to increase keratinized mucosa width around the implant with clinical parameters. In our study, 38 systemically healthy individuals with a mucosal width of 2 mm and less, which are located between the regions 33-43 in the lower jaw, were included. Patients were divided into two groups as test (modified free gingival graft) and control (conventional free gingival graft) after Phase-1 periodontal treatment and surgery was performed. From the peri-implant region, percentage of bleeding on probing (BOP), Gingival index (GI), Plaque index (PI), Probing pocket depth (PD), Keratinized mucosa width (KMW), Peri-implant mucosa thickness (PMT) and Graft surface are a measurements was recorded during pre-operative period, post-operative 1stand 3rd months. According to the results of our clinical study, there was a decrease in the BOP, GI, PI values in both groups compared to the baseline measurements, but no significant difference was found at the 3rd month. PD values were decreased statistically significant at 1 and 3 months compared to baseline in both groups (p=0,001). It was observed that there was a significant decrease in the time-dependent change of the 1st and 3rd month values compared to the baseline in the control group compared to the test group (p=0.008, p=0.034, respectively). There was a statistically significant increase in KMW buccal regionin post-operative 1st and 3rd months compared to baseline in both groups. In the inter group comparison, KMW buccal values were significantly higher in the test group at 1st and 3rd months. (p = 0.001) In terms of time-dependent KMW values change of buccal region, no significant difference was found between the groups. In the test group, there was a significant in crease in 1st and 3rd months compared to baseline in terms of KMW lingual. There was a significant decrease in graft surface area in both groups compared to the baseline (p=0.001). In comparison between time-dependent groups, there was a statistically significant decrease in buccal graft surface area in the control group at 1 and 3 months compared to baseline. As a result of our study; It has been demonstrated with clinical parameters that both free gingival graft techniques are clinically successful in increasing the keratinized mucosa width and mucous width can be increased successfully in these areas in individuals with inadequate keratinized mucosa in the lingual region with the modified free gingival graft technique.
