Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of dentistry is firstly to protect continuity of tissue then maintain function and esthetic. In dentalrestorations, porcelain is the best material which is used for esthetics reasons. In case ofesthetic success; porcelain?s metal coping which is used for improve physical properties ofporcelain, cause esthetic and biological problems. To over come this problem, new porcelainsystems investigated. The aim of this study is to compare marginal fit of metal supported(Chrome-Cobalt and Titanium) and full porcelain (IPS-Empress 2 and Zirconium) prosthesiswhich are used for fixed dental restorations. For this reason, 10 copings for Chrome -Cobalt(Wiron NT, Bego, Germany), Titanium (DCS Dental AG, CH-Allschwill, Germany), IPSEmpress2 (Ivoclar, Schaan, Liechtenstein) and Zirconium (DCS Dental AG, CH-Allschwill,Germany) were prepared. All copings marked 8 (45° angle) points after that marginal gapwas measured at 8 different points on each coping. After measurement IPS-Empress 2copings (120±26 micron) have the lowest marginal gap results than DC-Titan (121±38micron), Chrome -Cobalt (121±39 micron) and DC-Zirkon (162±66 micron) copings. Afterporcelain firing application; 8 points which were marked before, measured again. Afterporcelain firing application, IPS-Empress 2 (56±24 micron) copings have the lowest marginalgap results than Chrome-Cobalt (88±27 micron), DC-Titan (121±38 micron) ve DC-Zirkon(162±66 micron) copings.Key words: Marginal fit, thermal deformation
