Abstract (EN)

Soils are generally don't have of the intended quality for engineering applications. One of the appropriate and economical solutions is to stabilize the soil and improve the engineering properties. Theoretically, the soil grains and the water are incompressible, so that the soil compaction occurs when the air inside the gaps comes out. This is ensured by the fact that the grains are closer together and obtain a more tight structure. Movement of grains to each other by filling the gaps is ensured by static or dynamic loads applied to the soil layer. The mobility of the grains is related to the applied load (compaction energy) and the water content of the ground. Compaction is a stabilization method based on increasing the density of the ground by applying mechanical energy. After these processes the ground; becomes more stable, has reduced permeability, has sufficient strength under applied external loads, ground settlement is reduced and ground can retain these properties for many years. In this study, it is tried to predict the optimum water content with the maximum dry unit volume weight, which are the effective parameters of the compaction, as a result of regression analysis of a number of fine grained soil. As a result of the analysis, some reliable equations have been obtained. Key Words: Compaction, compaction energy, regression analysis
