Abstract (EN)
In this study, a nonlinear static analysis of thin/thick plates with transverse shear deformation are studied by use of finite element method working with a new code COMPAN we have introduced for this purpose. On the other hand we have also developed a new modified mesh element with 9, 8 and 12 nodes for avoiding shear-locking phenomenon when adapting from thick to thin plate analysis. The plate subjected to a uniformly distributed load is considered under two different boundary conditions: simply supported and clamped. After the maximum stress distributions have been determined by COMPAN code mentioned above the results are loaded into another code we have developed (LAMINATE) which is prepared for yielding strain / stress analysis and failure modes for each layer seperately.
