Miracles of Jesus in the Gospels and in the Qur'an

In this study, the notion of "miracle" in Christianity and islam was studied briefly; the miracles of Jesus mentioned in the Gospels and in the Qur'an were brought out by comparing them and by showing their differences and similarities. During this research, for the miracles of Jesus mentioned in the Gospels, we looked at the Gospel and its commentaries, for the miracles mentioned in the Qur'an, we studied the Qur'an and its commantaries. From our research we found that some of the miracles mentioned in the Gospels were not mentioned in the Qur'an; some of the miracles mentioned in the Qur'an were not mentioned at all in the Gospels. If we consider them according to the Qur'an, as from the common miracles in both of them, it could be said that the Gospels have partially a divine aspect. This saying of the Prophet Mohammad: "Neither accept totally the books of Jews and those of Christians, nor refuse them totally" (Bukhari, Shadat, 29; Abu Davud, Ilm, 2; Ahmad b. Hanbal, Musnad, IV, 136) points out clearly that fact. The miracles of Jesus were narrated in detail. As for the time, the place and the person, lots of information were given. As to the Qur'an, there is no detail in it about this subject. There, miracles are presented as something to draw a lesson from it. vi
