Influencing factors on the sexual function in infertile women

Abstract (EN)

Female sexual dysfunction depends on age and it seems 50 ? 60 % of women with increased age. In our study we evaluated sexual function and related demographic features of women presented with infertility. This study was performed on 200 volunteer infertile women who visited infertility outpatient clinic of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Çukurova University. We administered female sexual dysfunction index (IFSF) with 9 questions, Beck?s Depression Inventory (BDI) with 21 questions and general information form for searching demographic features. The relation between age, marriage time, education, occupation, salary, situation of partner selection and feelings toward husband and IFSF score was investigated with regression and correlation analysis. Mean age and IFSF score were 30.9 ± 6.1 and 32±7 years respectively. Education, occupation, salary, situation of partner selection and feelings toward husband when separated sub into groups and compared with IFSF score; the results were statistically significant (p < 0.005). There was no statistically significant correlation between marriage time and smoking with IFSF score (p > 0.005). In our study, we detected high level of IFSF score among women, who are well educated, have occupation, high salary and married with agreement.
