Abstract (EN)
Ralph Vaughan Williams' Oboe Concerto is considered an important work in the oboe repertoire of the 20th century due to its pastoral nature. The source of this quality can be said to lie in the reflection of both the concerto and English folk songs within the composition. The composer's interest in English folk songs and their influence on his composition are highly notable among composers in the music literature due to this distinctive feature. This research aims to elucidate the relationship that the composer reflected in his oboe concerto, emphasizing its pastoral qualities. In this context, the pastoral details in the score of Ralph Vaughan Williams' Oboe Concerto will be examined. By addressing the cultural, historical, and theoretical context of English pastoral music, the goal is to guide performers towards a more diverse experience in listening to and performing this work.
