English teachers' opinion on professional colloboration

The purpose of this reseach is to reveal English teachers' professional collaborations and views on these collaborative activities. In this study, the case study, which is one of the qualitative reseach method, was used. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with the participating teachers, and the questions in the interview form were directed towards the teachers. Their responses were recorded and later transcribed into written form, followed by a descriptive analysis of the answers. The reseach was conducted with participation of 16 english teachers working at both private and public schools in Alanya district affiliated with Antalya Provincial Directorate of National Education. The professional collaboration activities undertaken by teachers within the school and among their teaching teams have been evaluated in line with the findings of the research. While conducting professional collaboration activities, teachers have predominantly mentioned the positive impact of their knowledge exchange networks. Both public and private school teachers in the study indicate that the conducted professional collaboration activities facilitate learning from each other, strengthen teacher solidarity, and enable effective teaching. Therefore, depending on teachers' opinion, it has been determined that Professional collaboration effords positively contribute to teacher's Professional competencies and students's success.. However, teachers also mentioned that they encounter the most problems due to differences of opinion among them while carrying out professional collaboration activities. They stated that they overcame these challenges through communication, tolerance, and empathy skills.
