Determination of psychosocial problems and needs about psychological counselling and guidance of İnönü University students

The aim of this research to determine psychosocial problems and examine how differs these according to various variances and needs of psychological counselling and guidance of İnönü University students. This research was designed both in descriptive survey and relational model. The population of the research were 23603 students studying in faculties and colleges at central campus of İnönü University in 2015-2016 spring semester. The sample of the research were 1184 students selected from population through stratified random sampling. The data of the research were collected using data collection form arranged by researcher. The analysis of the data was done by using SPSS 22 packaged software, descriptive statistical calculations was made, Lojistic Regression Analysis was made to determine effect of factors on problem levels about university experienced by students. As a result of the research, it is determined that psychosocial problem levels experienced by students, especially problems about social facilities, is high. It is also determined that gender, education level of mother and being satisfied with the university have significant effect on psychosocial problem levels about especially lessons/exams and lecturers. Education level of father, to choose the department willingly and to have information about university and department before start the university have not significant effect on levels of the most of psychosocial problems. As a result of the research, it is determined that need levels of university psychological counselling and guidance services is low. It is seem that most of the students "never" need most of this services. It is also seem that female students need more psychological counselling and guidance services than male students. Various suggestions based on the results of the research arranged.
