Development and condition of construction project management in Turkey and world

Project management in the construction sector plays a major role in the development of the country's economy. The lack of a project management standard developed specifically to achieve the objectives of the project management in the construction sector in Turkey, the emergence of problems in construction project management takes its place among the major causes. In the construction sector in Turkey, it found similar examples in the world of project management and construction standards for the qualifications of conditions in Turkey in the field is able to use in designing an appropriate manner, which leads to increasing the global competitiveness with other countries. In this study, the location of the project management in the construction sector in Turkey and in the world by working on projects receiving hazel implementation of management standards and requirements are described benefits they provide to their sector. In this study, a literature survey on the previous works and standards in the field of construction project management was conducted with the aim of being a source for project managers in the construction sector. In the context of the literature review we have examined and compared the general objectives, characteristics and areas of knowledge of project management systems that have been approved and applied in most of the world's countries. When compared to other countries, the shortcomings of project management have prevented our country from reaching the level that the world countries have reached. In order to overcome these obstacles and to increase the competitive power of our country in the construction sector in the world markets, the concept of project management is now being adopted in our country. The importance of project management is not emphasized and it is thought that projects are managed by mentioning only a few of the technical terms related to project management. Some proposals have been made about the appropriateness and adaptation of project management standards to the conditions of our country.
