A critical approach to the concept of human resource management and a study on the subject

The needs of the capitalist economy have shaped the general characteristics of mainstream management education, which dominates nearly all the business schools in the world. Inquiries regarding the fact that there may be a problem in the agenda of the mainstream management education, focusing on establishing, developing and understanding the most effective and efficient methods in the production of goods and services, have remained rather insufficient in these institutions. Thereby, this work tries to describe and discuss various argumentations and how they diversify within the critique of the mainstream management approach. Then, the general view of the human resource management approach, which is a particular form of management activity, is presented together with a critical approach. Finally, the current situation problematizing with "world system analysis" in the spread and functioning of global capitalism is tried to be conveyed. Then research conducted to examine the validity of the critical objections to the current situation by focusing on the class consciousness of human resource employees. The research investigates whether the class consciousness plays a compensatory role or not on human resource employees standpoints towards the organization when they develop disaffection or sympathy under the circumstance of conflicting interests between the employee and the employer. The research conducted on 185 human resource employees showed that the employees have false consciousness, therefore, class consciousness does not have a moderator role in the effect of emotions emerging in conflict moments on attitudes towards the organization.
