Abstract (EN)

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are pilotless systems controlled from ground control stations. Initially used for military purposes, today they have become widespread systems used in areas such as reconnaissance, observation, spraying, transportation, and fire extinguishing. For this reason, the UAV market is increasing rapidly. Turkey has realized the importance of UAV technology and has become one of the producer countries in this field. With the rapid increase in UAV technology, it is seen that the number of academic studies on this subject has increased rapidly. With this development, pilot trainings to fly unmanned aerial vehicles have increased. In the first part of the research, a literature review of the academic studies on UAVs is given. The second section includes the developments and classifications of unmanned aerial vehicles from the first examples to the present day. In the third section, the topic of how to become a UAV pilot in Turkey is given. In the fourth chapter, UAV pilot trainings in the international framework are discussed. The fifth chapter covers operational procedures and the thesis is completed with the conclusion and recommendations sections.
