Özet (EN)
The aim of this study to determine and evaluate the nutritional status of adults with insulin resistance and to examine the relationship between emotional appetite, night eating habits and Mediterranean Diet compliance, which are effective in eating habits. The study was conducted on 205 (103 female, 102 male) indviduals with a diagnosis of insulin resistance aged between 18-65 years who applied to the Nutrition and Diet Polyclinic of Private Sular Vatan Hospital and agreed to participate in the study voluntarily. The data of the participants were collected through a face-to-face questionnaire prepared by the researcher. Participants' general information, anthropometric measurements, health information, nutritional habits and Emotional Appetite Questionnaire (SIA), Night Eating Questionnaire (ADL), Mediterranean Diet Adaptation Scale (MEDAS), International Physical Activity (IPAQ-Short Form) and 24-hour retrospective food consumption records were evaluated. 50.2% of the individuals are female and 49.8% are male, with a mean age of 35.22±12.40 years. Of the participants, 52 were slightly obese and 127 were obese. It was determined that 22.0% of individuals had low compliance, 61.0% moderate compliance, and 17.1% high compliance to the Mediterranean Diet. It was determined that 48.3% of the individuals were inactive and 8.8% had night eating syndrome. The mean score of negative appetite for females was 51.32±24.17, and the mean for positive emotional appetite for men was 45.28±13.74. In the study, a significant relationship was found between MEDAS and HOMA-IR value, but no significant relationship was found between DIA, ADL and IPAQ, but relationships were found between these scales. Considering the factors affecting the nutrition and life of individuals with insulin resistance, the creation of individual nutrition therapy by a dietitian will benefit the person and contribute to the prevention of chronic diseases.
