Özet (EN)

In this study a computer aided learning method based on atom and atom models was investigated to carry out its effect on secondary science classroom students' success and attitudes towards science. The attitude scales developed to understand the attitudes of the students to computers and to chemistry were applied. Three instruments were used in the study as pretest and protest: Chemistry Achievement Test (BBT), Computer Attitude Scale (BTÖ) and Chemistry Attitude Scale (KTÖ). The sample consisted of 30 high school students in Aydin Osmangazi Anatolian Profession and Profession High school and 24 high school students in Aydın Anatolian Profession and Profession High school in 2002-2003 education periods. For this purpose two experimental groups were compared, with the control group using conventional learning approach. The experimental groups were taken the teacher centered computer-aided education and student centered computer-based education, respectively. The results indicated that the experimental groups' students' attitudes to computer, to science and to science teacher show a significant and positive change due to control groups' student. It is same onto their success toward science. Furthermore, this positive change was more in the teacher centered-computer-based group.
