11 AN EXAMPLE OF INTERNET SUPPORTED INSTRUCTION (M.Sc. Thesis) Serçin BEŞİRO?LU GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY June 2001 ABSTRACT An example has been projected in this study, by the method of the Internet applications (web pages, forum, chat, guest book, e-mail, listservs, videoconference, etc). Initially, the developments related to the subject in the world and in Türkiye is emphasized. The meaning of the relevant concept has been explained. Following, Internet supported instruction has been clarified; the sample studies in the world and in Türkiye have been investigated. Instructional web site design principles, strategies of preparing an online lesson and encountered problems take place in this study. The phases of design and realization of Internet supported instruction example for the lesson 'The Applications of Authoring Languages on the Internet given in G.U. Gazi Education Faculty Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies Education in the 6th semester has been described. The outcomes of this study and the proposal is presented at the end of the study.
