VIIISUMMARYThe effect of body position to intracranial pressure and cerebral perfusionpressure in the intracerebral hemorrhage patientsThis research was planned to determine the effect of body position at patients withcerebral hemorrhage on intracranial pressure and cerebral perfussion pressure.Intracranial pressure and cerebral perfusion pressure was carried out in order toestablish whether there is any an difference between the values where the head is onvarious gradients (0o, 15o, 30o, 45o), and the values of the patients that are connectedto mechanic ventilator and that are not connected to mechanic ventilator.The research involved 20 patients suitable for our research criteria who arehospitalized at Uludağ University Medical Faculty, Neurochirurgie intensive careunit between November 2004 and December 2005.In order to collect data patient identification form and Mean TA, ICP, and CPPvalues, including head gradients were prepared separately for the group withrespirator and for the group without respirator.Patient identification form involves such information as t name and surname of thepatient, sex, age, his complaint for applying to our hospital, hematomun localization,and volume.Other tracking form involves the time of data collection, mean TA, ICP and CPPvalues for each head gradient.After the patients was hospitalized and its condition become stable we named thetime as hour 0 at which the first mean TA, ICP, and CPP values were taken at 0o,15o, 30o, 45o . This process continued with 8-hour intervals for 24 hours.The findings obtained showed that when Mean Artery Blood pressure according tothe head gradient at hour 0 compared with and without respirator groups, the min-max values of 0o mean Artery blood pressure were seen to be higher than the groupwithout respirator in respect of mean value and standard deviation.The CPP value is higher in the group without respirator. The reason may be that thepatient who do their respiration on their own has a better otoregulation.
