Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to conduct a Turkish validity and reliability study for The Parent Participation in Invasive Procedures Measurement Tool. The research involved 246 healthcare professionals working in child health and diseases across three provinces. Data were collected between March and May 2024. Data analysis utilized frequency, percentage, internal consistency coefficient, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test, Bartlett's Test, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis methods. The scale consists of two subscales: Risk-Benefit Perception and Self-Efficacy Perception, totaling 23 items. Reliability analysis revealed a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.90 for the Risk-Benefit Perception and 0.88 for the Self-Efficacy Perception. Additionally, test-retest analysis showed a high correlation between the two measurements. The mean scores of the Parental Participation Attitude Scale exhibited a positive, weakly significant relationship with the Risk-Benefit Perception and Self-Efficacy Perception subscale scores (p<0.005). In conclusion, the Invazive Procedures Parental Participation Measurement Tool, with its 23-item Turkish version, is determined to be a valid and reliable measurement instrument.
