Özet (EN)

Each fiber cross-section gives a different characteristic to the yarn. By changing the fiber cross-sectional structure, studies of adding different functional properties in fibers are rapidly increasing. Examples include; such as cold-holding fibers, hot-holding fibers, anti-static fibers. With these features, the use of functional fibers developed in textile fields such as technical textiles and medical textiles is rapidly increasing. Inspired by this, in this thesis, weaving and fiber cross-section structures are changed to reveal different fabric characteristics and to create inspiration for new special fabrics in different textile areas. In this study, the performance and comfort features, water vapor permeability, abrasion resistance, drape and brightness of the fabrics woven from different cross-sectional shaped polyester fibers were examined. A total of sixteen woven fabrics were produced in four different weave patterns (plain, twill, sateen, and basket) from polyester yarns of four different fiber cross-sectional shapes (oval, scalloped oval, blending scalloped oval and hollow, hollow). Polyester yarns were produced in the same number by using fibers in different cross-sections. Fabrics were produced in different weaving structures with these yarns and fabrics woven with yarns having these different cross-sections were examined to give which characteristics on the fabric structure and fabric surface.
