Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between multiple intelligences of eighth graders and sustainable environmental attitudes. The sample of the research consists of 225 eighth grade students who are studying in three different secondary schools in Adıyaman province in 2015-2016 academic year. Relational scanning model was used in the research. The "Sustainable Environmental Attitude Scale", developed by Saban (2010), "Multiple Intelligence Areas Inventory" and Yıldız (2011), was used as a data collection tool. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.00 program. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test, One-way ANOVA and Pearson Moments Multiplication Correlation Coefficient were used for statistical analysis of collected data. According to the findings of the study, it was seen that the eighth grade students had a high sustainable environmental attitudes. While there was a significant difference in favor of girls in terms of gender change in eco-environment attitudes of eighth grade students in the study, school type, mother education level and father education level. When the intelligence areas of eighth grade students were examined in terms of gender change, there was a significant difference in favor of girls in general totals of verbal-linguistic intelligence fields, visual intelligence fields, musical intelligence fields and multiple intelligence fields. As a result of the correlation analysis, there was a positive, meaningful and low level of relationship between the multiple intelligences of the eighth grade students and the sustainable environmental attitudes and the overall total score of the multiple intelligences and the sustainable environmental attitudes. The highest relationship was found between sustainable environmental attitude and logical-mathematical intelligence. The lowest relationship was found between sustainable environmental attitude and musical-rhythmic intelligence. Keywords: Multiple intelligence fields, sustainable environmental attitude, science education.
