Investigation of some antioxidant parameters in children patients with leukamia in Mosul city

This study included assessing the level of some serum antioxidants levels Catalase (CAT), Superoxide dismutase (SOD), Glutathione (GSH), Vitamin C, Albumin, Uric Acid, Zinc (Zn), and Copper (Cu) in Iraqi patients suffering from leukemia. The aim of the study is to assess the level of some antioxidants in the blood serum of Iraqi patients suffering from leukemia. Know the relationship between leukemia and some antioxidant parameters, may give to the doctor a visualization to modify the treatment of the patient and focus on the status of antioxidants. Patients in the study will be randomly taken from leukemia patients that coming to Ibn AL-Athir Teaching Hospital. It was found after investigating the number of patients with leukemia, where it was included (80) male and female cases their ages between (4 months and 14 years) after taking approvals from their parents, and other 40 persons healthy apparent in same age levels as the control group. The results showed there is a statistically significant increase in the levels all (Albumin), at P ≤ 0.05 in patients with leukemia compared with control, and also there is a statistically significant decrease in the levels all at P ≤ 0.05 (Vitamin C), but it is a non-significant in the level of albumin between study groups at P ≤ 0.05.
