Using IoT technologies in education: Smart school example

It is seen that successful studies have been carried out in many fields using IoT Technologies. It has been observed that IoT studies in the field of education are not sufficient. This study aims to create a better learning environment by using IoT technologies more comprehensively in the field of education. Classrooms are the most intense learning environments for students. For this reason, IoT systems are used more intensively in the classroom. This study was conducted with the idea that it will enrich students' learning environments, improve their learning abilities and increase student success rates. Various design scenarios were made by using IoT technologies for tools, materials, desks, desks, pens, pencils, notebooks, books, etc. Used by students in the classroom. These materials that students use the most were transferred to the digital environment. RFID and NFC, the most preferred IoT technologies in education, were used in the designs. It is thought that the use of these technologies will provide many benefits such as alerting students by the teacher, saving class time, providing students with fast feedback, and building self-confidence in students. It is seen that IoT technologies accelerate the processes in the classroom and improve the learning environment of students visually and auditorily. In the fingerprint application, it is seen that IoT technologies save time for the teacher during the lesson, eliminate paperwork, procedures and stationery costs, and the results are seen. In the system designs and scenarios using IoT technologies in this study, there are benefits provided by IoT technologies, and it shows that these systems designed for students and teachers can be used in schools. It is seen that many processes are digitalized, the workload of administrators and teachers is lightened, students' learning environments are improved, and it is thought that it will be a good resource for those who will conduct research on IoT technologies.
