Özet (EN)
In this MSc thesis, the yarn tension measuring sensors were investigated in terms of design, detection methods and production. For this purpose, the physical principles of the sensors used for tension measurement were examined and the physical relations in tension measurement methods based on these principles were analyzed. Then, scientific and patent literature were reviewed, contact and non-contact yarn tension measurement methods were explained in detail. Although capacitive, optical, Hall effect and strain gauge sensors are used in the measurement of yarn tension, resistance type sensors are mostly used in many applications. Within the scope of thesis study, a thread tension sensor was designed, produced and tested experimentally by using resistance type load cell in three different sizes and characteristics. For this purpose, the yarn drawn from a bobbin placed in a single-unit creel was wound on a new bobbin at different speeds. At the creel outlet, a commercial yarn tension sensor and tension sensor developed in this study were used and the yarn tension was measured and recorded at intervals of 1.5 milliseconds by these two sensors simultaneously. Changes in yarn tension taken at speeds of 50 m/min to 800 m/min were presented graphically and evaluations were made. According to the investigations, the yarn tension sensor developed in this thesis showed a greater variations than the commercial yarn tension sensor. Although different amplitudes vary, the tension signals of the 2 tension sensors at the speeds up to 200 m/min showed parallel changes. However, at speeds above 200 m/min, the tension signals of the 2 tension sensors exhibited variations that varied. Tension sensors developed in the thesis gave higher average tension values at increasing speeds compared to the commercial sensor and the difference between commercial sensor and the developed sensors reached 10-15% at 800 m/min speeds. Also tension sensor 2 produced less fluctuating results than tension sensor 1. This is thought to be due to the higher bending rigidity of load cell used in tension sensor 2.
