Abstract (EN)

Cervical cancer constitutes 15% of cancers seen in women in underdeveloped countries and 3.6% in developed countries and ranks fourth in female deaths caused by cancer. The research was carried out on 367 women who applied to 4 primary health centers in the city of Baquba. Cervical Cancer and Pap Smear Test Health Belief Model Scale was used in the research. As a result of the research, it was determined that the cervical cancer sensitivity levels of women aged 28-37 were low and their health motivations were high. The sensitivity and seriousness levels of the women living in the village were found to be high, and their health motivations were low. Women with 3 or less children have higher health motivations. Those with very good health status have low sensitivity levels and high health motivations. As a result, the readiness of women to have a pap smear test differs according to many variables. For this reason, the training required for women to have pap smear tests should be provided to women.
