Evaluating the efficiency of the economic performance of small industries in Iraq

Small industries play a vital role in meeting the need of the Iraqi local market and reducing imports of similar goods, which improves the balance of payments situation in addition to reducing unemployment and reducing poverty, in addition to their great importance in increasing the growth rate of the industrial sector and the growth rate in general. When studying the reality of small industries in Iraq, it became clear that small industries in Iraq after 2003 declined significantly due to high wages, high prices, inflation, and the security conditions that Iraq went through; The study aimed to shed light on the role of the contribution of small industries in Iraq for the period (2018-2021). The study relied on the descriptive, analytical, and statistical approach to analyze and classify data. The study dealt with three main chapters, the first chapter concerned with: the theoretical framework for small industries, the second the theoretical framework for the standards used in the study, while the third chapter was the practical aspect of applying the standards, and the study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: The impact of Small industries in Iraq due to political and security events after 2003, the ISIS terrorist war (2014-2017), and the high level of prices and wages for workers ،Lack of government support, and the study recommends the need for real support in order to play an important role in the economic development process in Iraq.
