The impact of the Iran Islamic Revolation on political Islamic thought in Turkey

This thesis, which aims to reveal the political and sociological aspects of the effects of the Iranian Islamic Revolution on the Political Islamic Thought in Turkey, has tried to examine the political and sociological structure between the two countries with the comparative analysis method by reviewing the relevant literature. The resulting political developments have been interpreted within a historical framework, taking into account the social conditions and processes of change. In this framework, it is seen that the intellectual foundation of Political Islam in Turkey and its activities accordingly have met with global economic policies since the 1980s and have been integrated into the system over time. Political Islam, increasingly attached to the system, has tried to continue its activities with an approach that takes Islam as a reference in economic, social, cultural, and political fields as well as taking into account the requirements of the age. Accordingly, while the thought of Political Islam in Turkey adopts an approach that is at peace with democracy, pluralism, globalization, and modernization processes; Iran, on the other hand, has adopted a different structure and approach with the Islamic State model, which is based on Shiism, closed to the outside world, including radical Islamic discourse and activities. As a result, the Islamic Revolution of Iran could not become a needed regime model for Islamic countries in political, social, economic, legal, and religious terms, and remained a utopia for political Islamists in Turkey. Because the parameters of social structure and change in Turkey are based on different dynamics in sociological and political terms.
