Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is, to compare Iran?s ?Traditional Restoration Approach? with Turkey?s ?Scientific Restoration Approach?, in order to determine the differences in restoration practices between two countries and building up a basic source to enhance suggestions on exchanging information and skill men. In this respect, two of Seljukid mosques in Zencan were chosen to compare for their restoration decisions.This thesis includes six chapters. In the introduction; literature review, the aim of the thesis, hypothesis, method and expected results are mentioned. Second chapter, the general characteristics of Zencan region; third chapter consists of detailed investigation on designing and application of Gerveh Friday mosque in the sense of practicing on ?Scientific Restoration Approach? in Turkey. The fourth chapter, it is about ?Traditional Restoration Approach? in Iran and the introduction of restorated Socas Friday Mosque, its restoration decisions and practices.In the fifth chapter, the comparison is made between Gerveh Friday Mosque and Socas Friday Mosque restoration suggestions ans presented on tables. In the sixth and final chapter the advantages of ?Scientific Restoration Approach? over ?Traditional Restoration Approach? is presented as issues, and thesis is ended with suggestions.
