Appearance of Irk Bitig's vocabulary in Türkiye Turkish

The first study on Race Bitig started in 1912 with V. Thomsen. In the next period, H.N. Orkun, S.Y. Malov, S.G. Clauson, A. Arlotto, J.R. Researchers such as Hamilton, M. Erdal, T. Tekin, Ikeda have worked on the work. When the studies on Irk Bitig were examined, we determined that there was no study on vocabulary on the work, and this thesis was prepared in order to complete this deficiency, to determine the status of words and some sounds in the period from the Old Turkish period until today, to determine the developmental tendencies of sounds in dialects (such as b > v, d > z ~ y, t > d, g > Ø, k > h, Ø > y, ç > ş), and to emphasize the importance of dialects in vocabulary and etymology studies. In this study, the vocabulary of the work named Irk Bitig has been examined comparatively within the scope of sound and form in Türkiye Turkish and its dialects. Methodologically, the words in Irk Bitig were scanned in the TDK Turkish dictionary and compilation dictionary, and the phonetic and morphological changes in the words from the day the work was written until today, and whether the words examined continued the same in Turkey Turkish and dialects were tried to be determined. The word is used in the text to mean fortune telling. The word means fortune, nickname and sign in the study titled "Old Uyghur Turkish Vocabulary" prepared by İsmail Doğan and Zerrin Usta (Doğan, Usta, 2014; 144). While the word does not appear in the current Turkish dictionary, it appears in the compilation dictionary as ırk (Afyon, Kütahya) and ırık (Isparta) (https://sozluk.gov.tr). The findings obtained are given in the Appearance of Irk Bitig's Vocabulary in Türkiye Turkish section and in the conclusion section. In the introduction part of our study, we tried to give brief information about the subject of the study, its importance, purpose, method, Uyghurs, Race Bitig and studies on it, and Turkey Turkish Dialects. We discussed our study in two main sections. We arranged our first chapter title as "The Appearance of Irk Bitig's Vocabulary in Türkiye Turkish". In the second part, we tried to give the forms of the words in Irk Bitig in Turkey Turkish and Türkiye Turkish dialects. In the conclusion part, we tried to give how many of the words in Irk Bitig exist in Turkey Turkish, how many have undergone morphological changes and how many are not used. A total of 452 words were examined in this study. While a total of 263 words in the work have reached today's Turkey Turkish, 189 words have not been found in Turkey Turkish. While 313 of the detected words are nouns, 139 of them are verbs. Accordingly, while the ratio of nouns in the text is 69.25%, the ratio of verbs is 30.75%. 65 of these 313 noun noble words appear in the current Turkish dictionary without any formal change in the historical process. Of the 312 noun-based words examined, 113 of them have undergone some changes until today: ab>av, adgır>aygır, adıg>ayı, agıl>ağıl, etc. Key Words: Vocabulary, Old Uyghur Turkish, Türkiye Turkish, Irk Bitig, Compilation Dictionary
