Abstract (EN)
Unsuitable working conditions, insufficient workplace health and unconsciousness due to inadequate training of the employees, ergonomic problems and the individual characteristics of the workers cause occupational accidents and diseases. Occupational health and safety encompasses all the applications protecting individuals from occupational accidents and diseases. The main purpose of those applications is, in fact, to prevent occupational accidents and diseases. Since each business sector involves its risks and hazards, there is no chance that an individual doesn't encounter such a dangerous situation throughout their business life. Risk assessment is a process that identifies the potential risks and hazard factors of the actions related to the business sector and that, at the same time, calculating the risk of being exposed to certain materials, applies the required measures so as to keep the risks of physical injury resulting in possible disability status within an acceptable limit. Risk assessment includes taking the risk factors under control and the decisions keeping them within an acceptable limit. The application of the risk assessment is obligatory, as well as it is of great importance that both the employers and the employees are alerted about it beforehand and that the necessary opportunity for it is provided. The first part of this study contains information about the concept, purpose and the importance of occupational health and safety. At the second part the stages of the risk management and risk assessment explained thoroughly. At the third part, two methods of risk management which takes part at building construction practice have been used and the acquired data have been evaluated.
