The effect of job stress and excessive workload on job satisfaction and employee engagement: A research on Reyhanlı State Hospital nurses

In this thesis, the effects of the work stress and excessive workload experienced by the nurses working in the Reyhanlı state hospital on job satisfaction and employee commitment, and in this context, the degree of influence were analyzed. The aim of this research is to determine the factors related to job stress and workloads, job satisfaction that enables nurses to be more productive in their working lives due to work stress and increasing workloads, and employee commitment, which creates a more positive, more accepting working environment, and to the management of Reyhanlı state hospital, to the nurses. Determining the strategy for the purpose is also making suggestions. After the literature review, it is aimed to answer the questions freely and confidentially (that the answers will not be returned as a sanction to the people who participated in the survey) in the face-to-face survey application. The main mass of the applied survey study is the nurses who are actively working in the Hatay Reyhanlı state hospital, which is the subject of the research. The reliability and validity analyzes of the variables used in the study were examined using explanatory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The research hypotheses were analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM), and the other data in the questionnaire; explained with frequency tables. It has been concluded that work stress and excessive workload have a significant and negative effect on job satisfaction for the nurses of Hatay Reyhanlı state hospital, which is the main body of the research.
