The relationship between quality of work life and motivation: An ampirical study in the health sector

Quality of work life has a significant effect for ensuring motivation of employees to obtain positive outputs concordant with aims and targets of the organizations and thus for increasing performance of employees. It is hardly possible that personnel employed in an organization with low motivation level and poor quality of work life under contemporary working conditions will be efficient and productive. Then, administrators of organizations should determine priorities pertaining to quality of work life and motivation level of employees and to improve quality of work life and motivation level of employees.This study was performed in order to determine quality of work life and motivation levels of 458 personnel employed in healthcare sector in Uşak province, to reveal relationships between qualities of work life and motivations and to determine the effect of quality of work life on motivation.In analysis of the study, first definitive statistics of quality of work life and motivation dimensions were addressed. One-way Anova and t-tests were used for determining effects of demographics on quality of work life quality and motivation factors. In order to determine relationship between quality of work life and motivation factors, Pearson correlation was used and multiple regression analysis was performed for determining effect of quality of work life on motivation.In conclusion, it was found that the wage that they get for the job and other economical revenues emerged in determination of quality of work life and motivation levels and those employees were happy to work in present business place and their relationships with business friends. It was found that there was a positive significant relationship between quality of work life quality and motivation factors. effect of quality of work life on motivation level was found significant, should the significance level was p<0,01.
