A research on studying the relationship between the judgements corresponding the roles of women in business life and organizational culture in public sector

This study aims to evaluate the problems women are confronted with in business life on the basis of gender roles and analyze the situation in public sector.In the first section of the study, as a result of the gender roles, in which areas women face gender discrimination were depicted. The legal arrangements and organizational processes related with gender discirimination were explained. In the second section of the study puts emphasis on glass ceiling syndrome. In the third section of the study Hofstede, Schneider, Harrison ve Handy?s organizational culture types were mentioned. In the forth and the last section, there exists the results of the research made with 242 inquries that aims to find out whether judgements corresponding the roles of women in business life ranges or not in different organizational cultures. Statistical analysis of the inquiry was carried out with SPSS 11.5 and from the analysis techniques one way ANOVA and independent samples t-test were used. According to the results, judgements corresponding the roles of women in business life do not range in different organizational cultures. In addition to this result, the judgements corresponding the roles of women in business life changes according to gender.
