The effects of cooperative learning to gain the Turkish lesseons aims of the forth grade students of primary education and students achievement

ABSTRACTThis study was carried out with the aim of determining the effect of cooperative learning approach to the academicachievement in teaching Turkish of the forth grade students of primary education. In this study, an achievement test was used forevaluating student?s academic achievement and an inquiry was used to take the opinions of the experimental group about cooperativelearning. In this study experimental method was used. Pre-test and post-test with control group design of experimental researchmethod was used. The experimental and control groups consist of thirty students. Cooperative learning method was used in theexperimental group, traditional method was used in the control group. A pre-test was applied before the experimental process and apost-test was applied after the process to the groups in the study. In addition an inquiry was used to take the opinions of experimentgroup students about cooperative learning. The analysis of the data was gained by using t-test of the SPSS programme. Thesignificance of the gained data was evaluated at .05 significant level. According to results of the study suggestions were presented.2
