Narrator lover in İshak Çelebi's Divan

Old Turkish Literature has been existing for centuries and it has been shaped by customs and traditions. Poems, which are the most remarkable heritage from this literature, have played a significant role in understanding all aspects of Old Turkish Literature. The study on these poems, which have really great artistic values, shed light on not only artistic life of that period but social, political and cultural aspects of that period as well. Most of the studies carried out so far on the field of Old Turkish Literature have been actualized to depict ?darling?. However, the typology of ?lover?, which is the real hero of poems in Old Turkish Literature and is used to depict darling and is also an important element to define this tradition to the reader, has not been much emphasized in literary studies.Narrator Lover in İshak Celebi?s Divan has been studied in this dissertation. Different types of narrators have been deal with in the firstchapter. The dissertation consisting of three main chapters points out the life, the character, the artistic characteristics and the literary works of İshak Celebi who is a Divan poet and is the main subject of the study. The typology of lover and narrator in İshak Celebi?s Divan has been examined in detailed and has been illustrated in sample verses.Key Words: Old Turkish Literature, İshak Celebi, love, lover, narrator
