Abstract (EN)

This research was made to investigate the relationship between levels of hopelessness and Learned ? Resourcefulness levels for the Hearing-Disable students.The framework of this research is about combined Hearing ?Disable students who are educating in all İstanbul secondary schools for the Hearing-Disables ,special educational Vocational Schools and Vocational Schools in the district of Tuzla Hearing ?Disable students. 258 students are participated in the survey sample in this universe.Research on the datas was collected with ` Learned Resourcefulness Scale and Hopelessness Scale and Personal İnformation form. In the first part of three part scale is about personal informations , the second part is a sense hopelessness to measure 20 attitude statements , the testimony of the third section is about 36 ratings given to measure the resourcefulness of the learned.The datas obtained from scalas, coded and analyzed using SPSS package program.About the first part of the scale on the datas concerning is taken the frequency and percentage distribution , in order to determine students attitudes and perceptions of the arithmetic mean and standart deviation, attitudes elucidate the differences between the comparisons ` t ` test, groups or more than two variables were compared, a one way analysis variance was used. Whether there is a significant difference between opinions was tested on the a= 0.05 significance level.The findings of the research are as follows;1. The level of hopelessness was found to be at the level of averages fort he hearing-disable students in secondary school and in vocational high school. Also the hopelessness scale scores for the hearing-disable students were not significantly different between the groups according to gender and their fathers' educational level.2. Hopelessness scale of the hearing-disables students was observed as different according to the variabilities on their mothers' educational level, economic situations, school status and grade.3. While the level of learned Resourcefulness of hearing-disable students was found at the level of averages and it also shows difference according to their gender, grade and loss of hearing, their learned resourcefulness weren?t significantly different according to their parents' educational level and economic status.4. The relationship between hopelessness scale and learned resourcefulness was conducted statistically significant negative direction. As a result, while hopelessness increases , Learned Resourcefulness decreases.Key Words: Special Education, Hearing Disability, Learned Resourcefulness, Hopelessness.
