Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to present the differences between multiple intelligence fields amongst the special education vocational high-school level students who do sports and who do not sports.The sample size of totally 260 students composed of 130 boys and 130 girls form the sampling set throughout the universe of special education vocational high-schools' students in Afyonkarahisar, Ankara, Bursa, Erzurum, Isparta, İstanbul (Fatih, Kadıköy), İzmir, Kayseri, Konya, Mersin, Ordu, Samsun, Trabzon and Zonguldak.First of all, the current information on the goal of this research is given systematically by searching the details of the literature. Secondly, for realizing the goal of this research, "Self Evaluation Inventory in Multiple Intelligence Fields" which was developed by Howard Gardner and was translated into Turkish by Saban (2001) applied to this study.In solution and interpretation of data the meaningfulness was set to P<0,05, P<0,001 by using frequency, t-test, One Way Anova (one-way variance analysis) tests. SPSS package programme was used for analysing the data.As a result of this research, it is realized that the multiple intelligence fields of the schoolboys are higher according to the schoolgirls.The multiple intelligence fields of the students who do sports were found as higher according to the students who do not sports.The multiple intelligence fields of the students who do team sports were found as higher according to the students who do individual sports.According to the hearing loss level; the higher the level of hearing loss causes reduction in multiple intelligence fields' scores.According to the term of life which hearing loss was formed, the linguistic, logical-mathematical, interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence are higher in congenital deaf as the spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic and naturalist intelligence are higher in those with hearing disabilities later.The multiple intelligence fields are higher in hearing impaired students whose family contains other hearing impaired members.The spatial intelligence field is higher in hearing impaired students using hearing-aid as the linguistic, logical-mathematical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist intelligence fields are higher in hearing impaired students not using hearing-aid.The intelligence fields for the hearing impaired students who have lip-reading capability are higher than the others.The linguistic intelligence field is higher in hearing impaired students who live with their family as the logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal and naturalist intelligence fields are higher in boarding students.Consequently, lip-reading and boarding school are useful for multiple intelligence fields? development.
