Research of satisfaction of special earmold applications and it's effects on hearing gain on the people who have hearing loss.

Our target in this study is to analize performance of special earmolds, their effects on hearing gain and user?s satisfactions, which have important effect on persons who have hearing loss in high frequencies. This study have been made with 19 persons who are between 16 and 81 years old, using hearing aids at least for three months, and have hearing loss through to high frequencies. In this study had been used audiologic test battery, real ear measurement, performance and satisfaction questionnaires to realize how satisfied persons are. Additionaly, 2 teaching seance for 45 minutes for these persons had been arranged. In audiologic evaulations of person with hearing aids and without hearing aids had been defined statistically significant differences. With open fittings, especially in low frequencies (250, 500 Hz), it is realized that REAR reached to target value, and this value was being exceeded with standart mold. It has been not reached to target values in 4000 and 6000 Hz with both of these applications. It is observed that, averages of total points of HAPI and SADL in open fittings are higher than standart mold. It is defined, hearing aids are used for longer period in open fittings according to standart molds. Direct proportional correlation in open fittings is observed between HAPI?s results and using time. The persons are satisfied and got high performance with tube application, who have hearing lost through to high frequencies.Key words: Open fitting, hearing aid, earmolds, satisfaction and performance questionnaires
