Analysis of spesifity and sensitivity of edacs-ADP score in evaluation of major adverse cardiac events for 30 days in patients WHO presented to our emergency room with ischemic chest pain

Aim: EDACS-ADP score, was developed for emergency room, is a scoring system which allows to discharge patients in early period of the simple chest pain safely and has a low rate of false negativity. The present study has shown the assessment of spesifity and sensitivity of EDACS-ADP score in evaluation of major unwanted cardiac events for 30 days in patients who presented to emergency room with anjina pectoris. Method: The present study was designed as prospective clinical cross-sectional study. The participants who were above 18 year-old, gave an informed consent and medically suitable to measure troponin levels were included in the study. 37 data's including EDACS score components of participants were collected prospectively. In addition to those data's mentioned above, EDACS-ADP score was calculated with the EKG findings and troponin levels of patients. 30 days after the first presentation to the emergency service, information of whether a major adverse cardıac event had occurred was tried to be obtained via calling by phone or searching the medical records of the patients. Findings: The present study was completed with 392 participants who met the all criteria. 54,3% (n=213) of the patients were classified as low risk group in accordance with EDACS-ADP score. 116 major adverse cardıac event occurred in 16,6% (n=65) of patients during 1 month follow up. Major adverse cardıac event occurred in 0,9% of low risk group and 35,2% high risk group. In accordance with final results spesifity, sensitivity, PPV, NPV, +LR and –LR of EDACS-ADP is shown respectively: 96,9%, 64,5%, 35,2%, 99,1%, +LR 2,73 and -LR 0,05. Results: The present study has shown EDACS-ADP score may be used safely in patients who presented to our emergency room with anjina pectoris. Moreover, present study has shown that EDACS-ADP score has similar effectivity and reliability in a different area other than medical facilities where EDACS-ADP score was developed and has been performed.
