Abstract (EN)

The Scythes (Sakas) survived on a large region extending from the Great Wallof Chins to the Danube River and Hus and Köktürks in the Central Asia. These areasare covered with vast steppe and the geography is more suitable for stock farmingrather than its limited agricultural possibilities. The steppe geography affected thesocial and economical lives of Huns and Köktürks to a large extent. Forming offamilies, clan and clans were realized in a manner to resist against severe conditionsof steppe. Women acquired military skills suchas horse riding and archery in line withtheir daily routine. Children starting from the age of a child were trained for their livesin steppes. Horses, ship and iron had an important position on their lives. Speed ofhorse and striking force of iron provided them great possibilities. The basis of theireconomy was the stock farming. That situation was reflected to each step of theirsocial lives such as nutrition, dressing, sheltering and surviving. Their holidays andfestivals were also realized in accordance with the milestones of seasons.Since the basis of their economy was created by the stock farming it causedthem to breed ship and horses at the most. The products depended on stock farmingwere the main export goods in their commercial activities. Among their commoditiesof import were the products for dressing which can be rarely produced due to limitedgeographical and climatic conditions of steppe.
