Abstract (EN)
When the early historical sources are examined, it is seen that the Scythians regularly visited the Northern Black Sea coasts, it is stated that they knew the region and after their expeditions, they headed towards this geography with their main remains. The central branch of the Scythian migration wave settled on the Northern Black Sea coasts, which is accepted as the Cimmerian country, and established dominance in the region for many years. The cultural accumulation of the Scythians, who lived in a continuous dynamism, spread over wide geographies. Written sources and archaeological finds are of great importance in Scythian historical research. We find traces of the Scythians, who first struggled with the Cimmerians when they came to the shores of the Northern Black Sea, and then communicated with the neighboring civilizations, in the Greek sources for the first time in this geography. Greek writers gave information about the Scythians as far as they saw and heard. In this way, we were able to reach some details by obtaining important information about their lifestyles, military strategies and commercial activities. With the cultural heritage they left, the Scythians also conduce toward the tribes that came to the region after them, adopting the nomadic lifestyle, to be called Scythians. For a long time, the Northern Black Sea region was called Scythia, and the coming communities were called Scythians. In Latin sources, we encounter traces of Scythians as a result of the rise of the Macedonian Kingdom and the border conflicts that took place in response to this situation. In Byzantine sources, it is seen that the importance of the geographical area name and the structure of the military organization come to the fore. The Scythians, which started from the Danube river and spread to the Seyhun river in the east, are among the remarkable communities of the period they lived. The interest and attention on the Scythians BC. VIII. It is known that it appeared around the century. The development of commercial activities brought by the Greek Colonization enabled the Scythians to maintain their permanence in the region. In our study, we tried to examine the historical sources about the arrival of the Scythians to the borders of the Northern Black Sea and their activities in the borders of Scythia.
