Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between workaholism and work stress. The study consists of three parts. In the first chapter, the conceptual framework of workaholism is given. The second part consists of the theoretical conceptual framework of stress and work stress. Information about the empirical study conducted for the purpose of the research is in the third, namely the last section. Quantitative research methods were used in our study. The scales obtained as a result of previous studies were used to evaluate workaholism and work stress. The scales used were adapted to Turkish and proved their reliability as well as ensuring their validity. To measure workaholism, the 17-item, two-dimensional (overwork and compulsive work) DUWAS workaholism scale developed by Schaufeli, Taris, and Bakker (2006) was used. For the measurement of job stress, the job stress scale consisting of 7 items and one dimension developed by House and Rizzo (1972) was used. The questionnaire form created to collect the data was delivered to the participants via the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey in-house closed network system. In the survey in which 795 people participated, the answers of 158 participants were not evaluated because they were incomplete and sloppy. As a result, 637 questionnaires were included in the evaluation for analysis. When the results of the research are examined, there is a moderately positive and statistically significant relationship between workaholism and work stress. As workaholism increases, job stress also increases. It was concluded that the level of workaholism of the participants was moderate and the level of work stress was low. In the analysis of the link between workaholism and job stress of the participants in our study, no difference was observed in terms of education level, gender and position.
