The effects of industry job training given by İşkur on professional development and productivity in the forest products industry; The example of Düzce

In this study, it is aimed to identify the impact of İŞKUR on-the-job training programs on vocational development in forest products industry. For this purpose, the enterprises operating in forest products industry in Düzce province were included within the scope of this study. In this context, according to 2018 data in Düzce, total 11 enterprises registered to İŞKUR and 291 employees constituted this research universe. In this study, questionnaire method was used as means of obtaining data. Two different questionnaires were created for employers and employees. As a result of the evaluation of the questionnaire applied to employers; it was determined that the enterprises were informed about 45.5% of İŞKUR on-the-job trainings by means of mass media, and 63.6% of them applied to İŞKUR on-the-job trainings to find qualified personnel and 63.6% of them applied for incentives. In addition, 63.6% of the enterprises stated that İŞKUR on-the-job trainings were beneficial for the personnel and 36.4% of the enterprises stated that the efficiency of the employees who received İŞKUR on-the-job trainings was high. Consequently, the evaluation results of the questionnaire form applied to employees show that 45% of the participants are registered to İŞKUR, 27.5% of them participate in İŞKUR on-the-job training programs, and 51.3% of them expect to get a job after İŞKUR on-the-job training.
