Abstract (EN)
The position of women in society has been the subject of debate throughout history. The narratives of the creation of human, from the oldest beliefs to the monotheistic religions, have also shaped the position of women in society. In this study, the Qur'an, hadith (Hadis) and ulema books, which are Islamic sources, and the narratives of other religions that may be related have been evaluated together. The similarities and differences between the sources discussed have been revealed. In the narratives of the creation of human, which is discussed starting from Adam and Eve in Islamic sources, the roles and position considered appropriate for women have been examined with questioning their sources. The effects of creation narratives on other issues related to women have been also investigated. As a result of the study, the findings about how the Islamic sources give place to the position of women in creation are presented. The difference of the Qur'an's approach to the subject from other sources has been examined.
