Özet (EN)

In this study, the classification of the sciences in the history of Islamic thought has been examined and it is aimed to examine which issues and/or criteria are taken into consideration when the sciences are classified. In many verses and hadiths, the importance of science was emphasized and Muslims were encouraged to learn science. Although it is not possible to talk about the classification of sciences in the early periods of Islam, After the Hz. Prophet's (PBUH) resignation to the Hereafter, the internal fights among Muslims, new cultures encountered with the conquests and translation activities began to classify the sciences. Certainly, it is necessary to determine all the understanding of science in the Islamic world and to know how Muslim authors classify the science. However, a limited number of philosophers and scholars have been included due to the limited time and the understanding of the scientific understanding of selected scholars and philosophers. This study is expected to contribute to a better understanding of the scholars and philosophers to be included in the future studies. Both Islamic sciences and newly acquainted philosophical sciences have been put forward in relation to each other. The philosopher's or scholar's view of the world and the classification of sciences is what reveal his/her view of knowledge. In the discussions on the classification of sciences, which generally take place around the relationship between religion and philosophy, philosophers classify sciences through philosophical sciences and scholars who prioritize religious sciences have classified sciences through religious sciences.
