Abstract (EN)

'Freedom of Thought and Behaviour in Islamic Jurisprudence' The aim of this study is to evaluate the field of freedom of thought and behaviour in Islamic Jurisprudence. In the section of introduction, the concepts of right and freedom were explained in terms of the religious literature. The first capter of the thesis examines the negative factors which influence on the act of thought in terms of the Qur'anic understanding and other Islamic sources. In the second chapter, the field of freedom of thought and behaviour in the earlv Muslim society which was governed by the Prophet Muhammed was investigated. According to the experience of the early Muslim society, Islam does not allow the freedom of thought and behaviour that is agaist the public order and general ethics. In the third chapter, it is shown that the reason of the punishment for apostasy is to lead to the public disorder in Muslim society. The act of revolt is not accepted as a reasonable opposition in this this society. KEYWORDS: Freedom, thought, behavior, Islamic jurisprudence
