Foster family in Islamic Law: A comparative study

From the moment of complete and alive birth, all kids rich and poor, healthy and unhealthy, innocent and criminal, orphan or with parents they all need care and oversight until they become adults. Most viable condition for this compassion and care is family. But for various reasons like wars, famine, disasters, disease, migration or death, children sometimes have to live without their families. So how this children should be looked after? How Islamic law solves this problem? Nowadays rather than institutional care, foster families looks like a better solution. But foster families should be looked after more deeply and carefully in our society. Even though foster families isn't in the Islamic law as a concept it is scattered throughout the practice. Verses in the Quran, Sunnah and practice shows us most appropriate place is with the families. This problem wasn't ignored in the Ottoman Empire and they found various solutions like foster families.
