Deism criticism in terms of Islamic faith

Abstract (EN)
This study involves criticisms directed to deism by bringing proofs of reason in terms of Islamic thought. In the study, deist teachings these are contrary to belief principles of Islam were examined, and various arguments were made against these teachings in the sense of Islamic thought, both in the light of verses and in the perspective of Islamic scholars. In the first part of the study, the trend of deism has been outlined in order to put the criticisms on sure bases. According to this; various definitions of deism have been tried to explain and the differences between them have been tried to elicite by making comparison with theism and atheism which are the other belief models of this movement. İn addition to this the types and historical process of deism are also mentioned. This movement existed in various periods of history, primarily emerged reactively against the Christian Religion, not to Islam as a systematic movement, was also emphasized in this part. Even though this study deals with the desire of avaid from the dilemmas created by Christianity indeed the main purpose of this study is to reveal that it's directly against the teachings in Islam, by giving theological responses to deism. Today, it is known that the deism movement that increases its popularity and it has basic doctrines. The movement of deism which is deny the revelation, draws attention with is perspective to the God. For them, pure mind makes the existence of revelation meaningless. The rejection of revelation means that the mind is prioritized and God is pacified, and God's intervention in the world and humanbeing is ignored. As the reason is the authority of the mind and the starting point that comes to the fore in deism, the basic parameters of Islam and deism on the competence given to mind have been discussed and examined in this study. In the second part, which constitutes the main backbone of the study, information is given on the issues of religion and God, according to Islam and deism and prophet institution and the life of the hereafter. The third part includes the effects of deism in sociological sense. From this point of view, this study, particulary pays attention there is no satisfying explanation, in return to danger of deism in the society and what measures should be taken against both theism and other belief models facing Islam.
