An investigation of Islam Türkay's works in terms of meaningful and functional language elements

The aim of the study is to prepare the index and dictionary of the concept signs in the poems by examining the poems of Islam Türkay, one of the important representatives and poets of Azerbaijani Turks and Contemporary Azerbaijan Literature, in terms of meaningful and functional language elements. The study is mainly based on the poems published in various newspapers on different dates and not published anywhere before, together with the poems in the poet's four published books (Bir Gün Geler, Her Şéyi Tezeden Başlayam Gerek, Arxada Hesret Var, Éşgim Menim Dar Ağacım). The study consists of three parts. In the first part, information is given about the life, family, environment, literary personality and 4 published poetry books of Islam Türkay. The articles written in the newspapers about Islam Türkay and his poems were brought together and presented to the attention. In the second part, information is given about meaningful and functional language elements. Examples of Islam Türkay's poems are shown in the relevant sections. The third part consists of transcriptions of Islam Türkay's poems in four published poetry books, his poems published in various newspapers in Azerbaijan, and his poems that have not been published in any book or newspaper before. It consists of an index and a dictionary of poems. In this section, the meanings of the concept signs in the text are taken into account while making the meanings. In the study, the method in Cengiz ALYILMAZ's Orhun Yazıtlarının Söz Dizimi, (Erzurum, 1994) and Semra ALYILMAZ's Borçalılı Bilim Adamı, Eğitimci, Şair Valeh Hacılar Hayatı - Sanatı – Şiirleri (Ankara, 2003) was used while classifying the meaningful and functional language elements. The method has been updated and applied to the study; taking into account many, reference works on the subject.
