The evaluation of R and D units and R and D projects in establishments and their performance measuring

In both industrial and research companies, the importance of R&D units can only be understood by focusing on the role of the R&D during the development and creation of the recencies and discoveries for a company to maintain and enlarge its presence. In this study, the performance measurement methods and metrics are considered qualitatively and quantitatively in order to provide a continuity and possibility for the measurement of performance and productivity of R&D units and R&D projects of the companies. A specific questionnarie is developed for this study and it is performed on three sample companies which are actively involved in the Turkish Electronics Industry. A methodology for other companies in the electronics industry is presented by evaluating these sample companies according to R&D performance measurement criteria.
