Knowledge management in companies and sharing knowledge, a sample application in Eskişehir Türk Telekom

Today, one of the most important sources of business enterprises is certanlyknowledge. It is possible to regard knowledge as apotential which provides advantagesin business because it is a source, its cost is low and it procudes supplementary value.Knowledge is also a guide forenterprises. Especially, when decisions of greatimportance are made by the management, the presence of this guide is felt.By using knowledge as an input that usually becomes a whole whit technologyand by having a partin economic field during the advance of process of knowledge andinformation techologies, knowledge was considered as an unlimited potential.Being a potential knowledge is certainly very important for enterprises. But theuncontrolled management of knowledge will not lead to success. Therefore, to benefitfrom knowledge in, it has to controlled systematically. In this respect, to take advantageof knowledge, the key point is to apply knowledge management. Enterprises will beable to collect, produce, distribute, share and use knowledge in the most efficient andeffective wayThis study includes the general explanation of concepts related toknowledge and the investigation of knowledge management process in enterprises. Thecharacteristics, basics, processes and tools of knowledge management were examined atthis study. Knowledge management systems that one of the basics of application ofknowledge management are clarified. The share of knowledge was dealed with all sidesand concerned with this by applying a questionnaire on share of knowledge at EskişehirTürk Telekom a sample application was realized.SPSS 10.0 for Windows is utilized for analyzing data of the survey andfrequency distribution, correlation and regression analysis are used. The results areinterpreted through the information in literature research.
